Explosive inheritance of aggression: anti-mine obligations of Armenia under international law

Topchubashov Center will host a lecture on "Explosive inheritance of aggression: anti-mine obligations of Armenia under international law". The event will take place on Saturday 21th May at 3 PM at Caspian Plaza, Lotfi Zadeh Technology Center.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
The expert will present the implementation of two branches of law on governing weapons - Disarmament Law (which seeks to maintain military stability) and International Humanitarian Law (IHL) (to minimize suffering in armed conflict by regulating how hostilities are conducted).

Overall, the main discussions will shape around the international law regulations on conventional weapons and anti-mine obligations of Armenia.

ABOUT THE GUEST SPEAKER
Dr. Najiba Mustafayeva is an Adjunct Professor of Public Administration at the ADA University. She holds a master’s degree in International and European Law from the University of Amsterdam with a specialization in International Trade and Investment Law, and a Ph.D. degree in Law from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. She started her career at the office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), worked at the Center for Strategic Studies, International Committee of the Red Cross, Baku State University, SME Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a head of International Cooperation Department and Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a Deputy Director. She is the author of 2 books and more than 30 articles and op-eds, published in Azerbaijan, Turkey, the United States, Russia, Moldova, Greece and Poland.
